Round your purchase up to the nearest dollar. The proceeds will benefit a different non-profit organization each month. Just a few cents can make a Big Change! 100% of your donation goes directly to the chosen non-profit. The Co-op receives no tax advantage or otherwise.
January’s Big Change Recipient is LINC.
LINC: Limited Income New Cooperators is a program that shoppers can enroll in to become a Sioux Falls Co-op owner member at no cost to them.
People living on a limited income qualify for this program. Some examples would be if they use SNAP benefits, the WIC program, or the free school lunch program—they qualify for LINC. If they are on a limited income, they qualify.
When someone is enrolled in the program, the Co-op will supplement their equity payments at $40 per year for as long as they stay enrolled, until they hit the full $200. Once they hit the $200, they are fully vested and are technically no longer part of the program—their stock is theirs, just like anyone else’s.
This is an in-house program specific to our Co-op. LINC has been under development for years and we are thrilled to finally be working through the launch process.
To enroll, you may fill out a paper form in-store at the cash registers or you may do so online here: LINC Application – Sioux Falls Food Co+op
